Stop Overthinking: 3-Step System to Reclaim Your Joy

Let’s be honest—overthinking is a joy thief.

It kills momentum, hijacks your confidence, and traps you in a cycle of "what ifs" that never ends. The worst part? You think you’re being smart by analyzing every outcome—but really, you’re just stuck. 🫣

I used to be the queen of overthinking. 👑

I studied economics in college and grad school, so my brain was wired to calculate every possible decision path like I was playing mental chess. Game theory became my coping mechanism—but all it really did was drain my energy and paralyze me from taking action.

So I had to learn a new way. A way that helped me ditch the anxiety, take back my power, and move forward with confidence.

Here’s my 3-step system to stop overthinking and reclaim your joy—in business and in life. 🚀

⚡️ Step 1: Change Your State

Overthinking is often just fear in disguise.

Fear of failing.
Fear of what people will say.
Even fear of actually succeeding. 😬

And when we’re afraid, our body reacts with the classic fight, flight, or freeze:
Fight: "Ugh, I’m too overwhelmed—leave me alone!" 😶
Flight: Avoid the situation entirely 🏃‍♀️
Freeze: “I don’t know... maybe someone else can decide for me?” 😅

These responses often show up when we’re:

  • Sleep-deprived
  • Burnt out
  • Knocked off-center by criticism
  • Or just feeling plain overwhelmed

In those moments, what you need isn’t another to-do list—you need a reset. So step back. Literally.

🌞 Get some sunshine
🌱 Ground yourself in nature
☕ Make a tea
🚶‍♀️ Take a walk

Shift your state before you try to shift your strategy. Clarity doesn’t live in chaos—it lives in calm.

✅ Step 2: Do One Tiny Thing

Here’s a mindset shift that changed my life:
If none of this mattered—what would I do right now? 🤔

When you’re overwhelmed, don’t try to fix everything. Just pick one thing.
📍 One tiny task
📍 One next step
📍 One choice that feels aligned

Forget the pressure of getting it all right. Forget the spiral of shoulds. Focus on momentum—not perfection.

Sometimes I’ll look at my week and think, “Oh shit. How am I going to manage all of this?” But instead of freaking out, I zoom in.

“What can I do in the next hour that will move me forward?”

That’s it. That’s the move.
🧠 Confidence builds with every micro-action.
💥 Action—any action—is how you break the cycle.

☝️ Step 3: Nothing Is Ever Lost

Here’s the truth we all need to hear:
No decision is final. No choice is irreversible. 🙌

You can always:
🔄 Pivot
✍🏻️ Tweak
🤷‍♀️ Say “I changed my mind”

Even a “wrong” move brings you closer to clarity. It teaches you something. It gets you moving. It gives you data for your next move.

The only decision that hurts your progress is the one you don’t make. 💡

So instead of staying stuck in the spiral, choose progress over perfection. Even messy, unsure, baby-step progress is better than no progress at all.

Why This Works

This 3-step system works because it:

  • Moves you out of fear and into flow
  • Reconnects you with your intuition
  • Builds momentum and confidence with every small win
  • Helps you make clear decisions from a high-vibe state, not a burnt-out one
  • It’s not about being fearless. It’s about moving anyway.

You don’t need a perfect plan. You don’t need every answer. You just need to start.
Take a breath.
Pick one small action.
And move forward—even if it’s imperfect.

Because remember:
🏍️ You can always pivot
🏍️ You can always course-correct
🏍️ But you can’t steer a bike that isn’t moving
So let’s move.
